Prasannadeb Women’s College is the symbol of faith. Since 1950, the college has faced a phenomenal growth with its vision of empowering women, especially emphasizing on the under-privileged classes. Besides quality education, the college aims to equip them with all skills and knowledge so that they become ready to face the challenges of today’s competitive professional world.

P.D.Women’s College was the first General Degree Women’s College in the entire region of North Bengal. It is the pride of our college that we had been one of the fourteen colleges in the country selected in the first slot for setting up the Centre for Women’s Studies in the year 2007 as approved by UGC.

The location of this college is very important, since more than half of the population belongs to marginalised section in the Jalpaiguri district and its surrounding areas. Our college is ready to welcome all those young girls who have got a passion to learn. We will aid them with all assets like knowledge, discipline, society interaction, proper guidance for their career for the benevolence of the society. They will imbibe the modern methods of learning such as smart classrooms, audio-visual, field work, survey, educational tour etc. in the process.

The aim of the establishment of this Prasannadeb Women’s College was the empowerment of women and that has been successfully transformed to an enchanting slogan today throughout the college.
