About the department:
The department of Economics in P. D. Women’s College came into being simultaneously with the establishment of the college in 1950. It offered B. A General course up to 46 years. The honors course in Economics was introduced in 1996. The student intake capacity of the department has been increased from 32 to 69 inclusive of all categories under NEP. Now general and hons. courses are running parallel in our department. The number of books – both text and reference books is just adequate in the central library. There are four faculty members in the department – three are associate professors and one is SACT. The mutual understanding and cooperation among the faculty members have built the strength of our department.
